Grass Fire

October 20, 2013 at 10:47 PM:

Brush 50,  Brush 51 and Tender 52 responded to the report of a straw bale and grass burning along State Road 23 in Cache Junction. The County Fire Battalion Chief and a Cache County Sheriff’s Deputy also responded.

The first arriving Fire Department personnel met with a passerby who had stopped and was attempting to extinguish the grass and the bale of straw. With most of the fire extinguished, Tender 52 cancelled and returned to quarters while Brush 50 and Brush 51 continued to assist with mop up.

When the straw bale and roadside grass had been overhauled the fire was declared out. The cause of the fire could not be determined with the information available and after the remnants of the straw bale had been removed from the roadway all units cleared the scene.
