Grass Fire

Brush 50 and Battalion 3A were paged to a grass fire at Newton Reservoir. The caller stated persons lighting fireworks was the cause and it looked like grass had been ignited.

While fire units were enroute, campers with a shovel headed towards the flames to discover the fire was not on the hillside, it was burning on something floating on the water near the bank. Shortly afterwards the fire had burned out and the complainant called back with this update.

Brush 50 was in the area and continued to the scene to verfy. Nothing was found on arrival. After meeting the complainant and relaying what little vehicle informatuon was available, Brush 50 returned to quarters. Battalion 3A continued to the reservoir to meet law enforcement and speak to the complainant.

Vehicle Fire

Station 50, Engine 151 and Battalion 3A were paged to a vehicle fire in Cache Junction.

Shortly after notification, it was determined the vehicle was not on fire, the smoke was from the brakes and the vehicle had continued on its way. All units were cancelled.
