Squad 50 responded with CCEMS Ambulance 160 and a paramedic squad from Logan Fire to a medical assist at an address in Newton. One patient was transported to a local hospital.

Saturday, August 23, 2103 at 3:56 PM:

Units from Newton Fire, along with a Cache County Fire District officer, were dispatched to an address in Newton to investigate the report of a fire that may be close to a structure.

Arriving units found that the fire was in a fire pit and was not a threat. All units cleared.

Wildland Fire Assist

Wednesday, August 14, 2013:

Brush 50 joined other local brush units to watch the south flank of the Millville Fire overnight August 14-15, 2013. Firefighters monitored the fire overnight with plans to intervene if the fire threatened to cross SR 101 in Blacksmith Fork Canyon.

When the day shift brush engines were ready to continue this operation all of the brush engines monitoring this area overnight were released.

Grass Fire

Monday, August 12, 2013 at 10:51 PM:

Just before 11 PM Monday evening brush units were dispatched to an address in Hyrum for a grass fire. With many of the local resources involved in the structure protection operation underway at the Millville Fire, this new start included trucks from as far away as Logan and Newton. Brush 50 was on the ticket and responded to this incident.

Brush 50 arrived and assisted the other units with the control of this fire, returning to quarters when the fire was out.

Wildland Fire Assist

Monday, August 12, 2013 at 8:50 PM:

Brush 51 returned to the Millville Fire and joined with other units to assist with a burn off operation as part of the structure protection plan for this incident.

As the burn off was nearing completion Brush 51 was reassigned to patrol the west edge of the fire to mop up hot spots and to ensure that the fire stayed within that containment line. At 7 AM all units operating on the night shift were released and Brush 51 returned to quarters.

Sunday, August 11, 2013:

This morning the Cache County Wildland Team was activated to join with brush units and other support personnel at the Millville Fire. Firefighters from Newton responded in Brush 51 to this call for assistance.

Tender Task Force

Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 9:46 PM:

Tender 50 and Tender 52 from Newton were called to a working structure fire in a neighboring community as part of a Tender Task Force assignment, to assist with water supply as the fire was in an area where hydrants are not available.

Squad 50, with CCEMS Ambulance 160 and Squad 71 from Logan Fire were paged to a medical assist at an address in Newton. The need for assistance was resolved and dispatch was able to cancel all responding units before arrival.
