Brush 50, Brush 51, Tender 50 and Battalion 3A responded to a fire in a combine in a field south of Cache Junction.
Arriving units found a smoldering fire in a combine with the farmer working to clear the burning material. Brush 50 and Brush 51 personnel deployed hoselines to help cool the equipment during overhaul.
The quick action of the farmer, aided by fire crews, prevented damage to the combine. The cause of the fire appears to be mechanical.
All units cleared when overhaul was complete.

Brush 50, Brush 51, Tender 50 and units from Station 40 responded to a fire in a combine in the Cache Junction area.
The farmer noticed smoke as he was cutting safflower and notified one of Newton's firefighters, requesting assistance. Dispatch was also contacted, sending alert tones to Newton and Smithfield stations.
Before fire department arrival the farmer had opened an access panel to investigate and received burns to the arm and face. He began to clear the burning material from the combine and when fire units arrived he assisted with suppression efforts until the fire was controlled, at which time he was treated by EMT's from Smithfield Fire but was not transported.
Extensive overhaul was completed and thankfully the combine was not damaged from the fire.

Brush 50 and Tender 50 responded as mutual aid to assist with a grass fire north of Clarkston on Dirty Head Road. Tender 50 supported the brush units with water and Brush 50 personnel joined in mop up to make certain the fire was out.

Brush 50 and Tender 50 were paged to investigate the report of a fire on Little Mountain. A thunderstorm was crossing the valley and the caller thought a lightning strike had started the fire.
Units responded to the area of Newton Dam but were unable to see any sign of fire on the west side of the mountain. Brush 50 made the loop around Little Mountain, as did a Sheriff's Deputy. A County Fire unit also was in the area. With heavy rain falling and no sign of fire all units cleared.

Squad 50 arrived at the incident location and found no cyclist with an injury. Additional information resulted in cancelling Squad 50 as the patient was in Trenton.
